Served as the first director of the Japan Film and Television Art Director Association when it was established in 1939.
Served as assistant director for Kubo Kazuo and Aoyanagi Nobuo before falling in with Honda Ishirô. They had a long and lucrative collaboration where Kita worked as an art director.
Ascended to the role of General Production Manager at Toho in 1961, and then Toho Building President and Representative Director in 1962.
