Kouchi Momoko

Joined Toho as part of the 6th New Face program, alongside Takarada Akira, Sahara Kenji, and Fujiki Yû.

After appearing in several sci-fi films, she retired from film and focused on stage and television.

She reprised the role of Yamane Emiko from Godzilla (1954) in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995), a gap of 41 years between appearances.

Kouchi was diagnosed with colon cancer during a stage production tour in January 1998. She succumbed to the disease in November of the same year and was given a Catholic funeral.
