Started at Toho with small bit parts and walk ons, culminating in a substantial role in The Age of Assassins (1967).
Was good friends with Kayama Yûzô of Young Guy fame.
Dropped out of film in the 70s after Toho's contract system ended, and retired from acting altogether in the early 80s.
In 2010 Kuno was reportedly running a butcher shop in Tokyo.
