Mutsumi Gorô

Mutsumi, born Nakanishi Seiji, was a prolific actor and voice artist known for his commanding presence. He is perhaps best known to Western audiences for his villainous turns as the leader of the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974) and its sequel, Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).

In addition to his live-action work, Mutsumi had a successful career as a voice actor. He provided the Japanese dubbing voice for David Janssen in The Fugitive (1963-1967), a role that cemented his popularity. In the kaiju genre, he dubbed Russ Tamblyn's dialogue for the Japanese release of The War of the Gargantuas (1966). Later in his life, he taught acting and produced stage plays for the Theatre Academy.
